My inner Ren Faire/SCA geek thinks that the Arabian Native Costume classes are actually kind of awesome. :|

Too bad I am lacking in an Arabian horse and the likely exorbitant amount of $$$ needed to put one of those together! Or maybe it's a good thing; the last thing I need is another hobby.

Hmmmmm. Thoroughbred native costume class would consist of racing gear. Connemara native costume would consist of mud.

Inspired by [info]flax, here is my own fall-fashion wishlist. Not that I have any money with which to buy any of this...

Jackets and Sweaters: what fall is all about!
Gulf Island Hoodie Aaah, why so expensive...
Lambswool Cardigan Kinda boring, but it looks super snuggly.
Wrap Jacket I really really like this, but again, augh at the pricetag. :(
Belted Cable Sweater Vest

Tops
Serenity Top
Swoon Cover Up
Zen Cover-up Haha, I remember back in high school when I used to actually put a t-shirt over a long shirt. Now they come in one piece. :P I do like the graphic print stuff at T9, though.
Sydney Woven Shirt

Dresses/Skirts
Eva Luna Dress
Twirling Girl Skirt
Check-it-out Dress

OMG, Shoes.
Made-For-Walkin' Boots Damn expensive, but damn nice.

So, I like Patagonia. A lot. Their stuff 's expensive, but it always. fits. perfectly. Title 9 also usually has nice outdoorsy stuff that fits me well, and for a bit less than Patagonia.

I can't find much in mainstream fashion that's appealing this fall. I want wool skirts and knee-high boots and scoop neck sweaters back!

Part of my problem, admittedly, is I'm fashion retarded and have no idea how to assemble a cute ensemble. Yay for simple and boring outdoor attire. :)

Am trying to fill out my icon selection again, and am looking for some recommendations: either actual, shiny, minimal icons, well-cropped bases, or high quality screencaps/photos that I can make into icons myself. Any of the following subject matter would be sweet, if anyone cares to help a gal out:

  • Horses, kittehs, other living pretties.

  • Kung-fu/martial arts (preferably chinese)

  • Buddhism: monks, statues, temples, flowers...

  • Star Wars.

  • Lord of the Rings, duh.

  • Firefly!

  • Avataaar.

Sooo apparently satellite internet does not get along well with the LJ-picture-uploady-thing. (Why yes, that IS the technical name!) So no kitteh pictures yet. Sorry.

In other news, I has new computer. )

Am also plotting to take Leia to some of the hunter/jumper shows at Sweet Briar this fall and winter. Hahahah, the event rider and her hot-as-hell TB shall try to blend in with all the hunter princesses. Or, at least give them some entertainment and enough crap to gossip about for the next year or ten. Wheee.

So, first post. New journal. Moved over here mainly because the old one at [info]innfilly  was feeling, well, old. Similar sort of thing over here: mixed friendslocked and unlocked posts, depending on the content.  I am going to try and keep up, but, uh... yeah. >.>

Things this summer have been pretty lazy, which has been nice.  About a week after Rascal died, I went to the pound and ended up being suckered into bringing home two adorkable kittens. I have pictures on my phone, but need to find the cable to upload them. They're about 15 weeks old right now, and absolutely psychotic. One has adopted Louisa as her momma, and sidles up to her after meals to get baths. The other one pounces everything that twitches, including toes. Especially toes.

Ponies are doing pretty well. Haven't gotten back on Annie yet, and Leia threw a shoe, so we haven't been riding the past few days either. Finally getting the boys to gain some weight with them on 8 oz. of rice bran oil and 9 lbs of feed every day, instead of just growing and staying skinny like they were. They are both getting freakin' huuuge. (Then again, my conception of 'huge' is kind of skewed. Rowan looks like he'll top out around 16.1h or so. But considering my other two horses are 14.3 and 15.3, 16.1? HUGE. :P  Buddha is just big compared to what he was last year.)

Haven't seen Harry Potter yet; am going up to see the family tomorrow and we're going out in the evening.
